π NEW TRACK MACHINES ARRIVE AT THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY! | DR73959 & DR73960 | READING STATION FREIGHT & SLEEPER ECS
Join us for two days of railway action, starting on the evening of Thursday 29th October 2026 with a quick visit to Reading Station, before heading to the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster the following morning.
π Thursday 29th October β Reading Station
We begin with a short evening visit to Reading Station, where we catch a few freight movements along with the empty coaching stock (ECS) for Great Western Railwayβs Night Riviera Sleeper service.
We see the locomotives and coaching stock making their way towards London Paddington, where they will pick up passengers for the overnight sleeper service to Penzance.
π§ Friday 30th October β Severn Valley Railway, Kidderminster
The following morning, we head to the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster to witness the arrival of two recently imported track machines, DR73959 and DR73960.
These machines are visiting the heritage railway for crew familiarisation and potentially further testing, having only recently arrived in the country.
While waiting for the machines to arrive, we also manage to catch some steam action!
π 4150 gets things underway, departing Kidderminster with the 10:15 service to Bridgnorth.
π§ Shortly afterwards, DR73959 and DR73960 make their arrival onto the Severn Valley Railway.
π We then see 75069 departing Kidderminster with the 11:00 service to Bridgnorth, rounding off an interesting morning of railway movements.
A great mixture of mainline freight, sleeper coaching stock, brand-new track machinery and heritage steam traction across two days!
