Atmospheric Arrival via Northern Road Tunnel at Bury
Captured in 8K 16:9 widescreen on a crisp autumn afternoon on Friday, 16th of October 2026 at 12:34, Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST No. 1208 Harold works the 12:04 gala passenger service from Ramsbottom to Bury Bolton Street. Operating bunker-first with coal bunker leading, the Apple Green industrial saddle tank makes an atmospheric entrance into Bury Bolton Street station.
Emerging framed through the portal of the Northern Road tunnel, 1208 sounds a shrill, distinctive whistle as it breaks into the light, its note echoing off the brick lined tunnel walls. Lightly steaming and puffing gently as the driver brings the 3-vehicle train smoothly to a stand at the platform, the 110-year-old locomotive delivers a wonderfully scenic arrival to complete its journey south from Ramsbottom.
