West Coast Railways Operations

Another new series dedicated to showcasing railtour companies with today's video featuring West Coast Railways who can certainly be controversial at times.

This video features a lot of steam, Diesal and electric trains they run in recent years which I do hope you enjoy. There's an ever changing list of locomotives I have seen or not yet do so.

It's important to distinguish between "West Coast Railways" and the "West Coast Main Line." They are related, but different. Here's a breakdown:

Charter Train Operator:
West Coast Railways is a privately owned train operating company that specializes in charter train operations. This means they run special, non-scheduled train journeys. They are based in Carnforth, Lancashire.

Operations:
They operate charter trains across many scenic routes in the UK, often using both classic diesel and historic steam locomotives. A high profile operation they run is "The Jacobite" steam train in Scotland, which is a very popular tourist attraction. Provide locomotives, coaching stock, and crews for other rail tour operators. Also provide locomotives for hire to other rail companies.
