Two railtours seen heading north near Biggleswade about half an hour apart.
First was 86259 ‘Les Ross’ with West Coast Railways coaches on 1Z50 Kings Cross - Morpeth. The 86 would haul the train to York, from where 34067 ‘Tangmere’ would take over following a loco change.
The second railtour featured GB Railfreight 69001 ‘Mayflower’ and 57306 ‘Branch Line Society’ in top & tailed formation with mk2 coaches supplied by Eastern Rail Services. This ran as 1Z30 Kings Cross - Doncaster, which was the first leg of a multiple loco swap UK Railtours day out.
