Midland Mainline was a long-distance train operator linking London St Pancras with the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and beyond, known for intercity services and fleet modernisation.

Midland Mainline was a British train operating company that ran long-distance passenger services on the Midland Main Line between London St Pancras and key destinations in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. Operating from 28 April 1996 until 11 November 2007, it was part of the rail franchising era and was owned by National Express. It took over services previously run by InterCity and became a familiar name for rail travel between London, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and other locations on the route.

The company focused on improving long-distance services, investing in rolling stock and strengthening its identity as a customer-facing rail brand during the early years of privatisation. Its network supported both business and leisure travel and played a key role in maintaining links along the route from St Pancras. In November 2007, the franchise ended when its services transferred into the new East Midlands franchise under East Midlands Trains, bringing the Midland Mainline brand to a close.
